Issue #6: Jessica Flores


 

1. Nickname?

Jess, although my brothers call me Bones because I used to be really skinny as a kid.

2. Book reference?

‘The Metamorphosis’ by Franz Kafka

It was the first book I really enjoyed.

3. Food passion?

Tacos, always tacos!

4. Striking childhood memory?

When I was about 4-5 years old I fell off a moving car, in the way home from a family party.

But my mom didn’t notice so I started to run after the car and  they saw me from the rear-view mirror.  I remember running after de car!

It is a true story, now I find it funny but it was  pretty dangerous situation

 

 

5.Contemporary Artists?

6. Memorable Art Piece?

Seated dancer in pink tights by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, amazing!

7. Vices?

Overthinking, it’s the worst.

8. Future goals?

Keep exploring and improving every time I draw and be able to “touch” people, hopefully.

9. Sources of inspiration?

Everyday situations, the troubles of the mind, heart and soul, the complexity of emotions and feelings…

10. Why Art?

It’s the only place where one can feel safe and free.

11. …color of your soul?

I’d like to think is like a rainbow 🙂
